Ashburn is a community in Loudoun County, Virginia. It’s just a 15-minute drive from Dulles International Airport. The community is noted for its proximity to breweries, parks, and entertainment destinations. Ashburn encompasses about 18 square miles and uses zip codes 20146 through 20149.

Median home prices in Ashburn are in the low $500s, just over $220 per square foot. Year-over-year sales prices have mostly remained steady, with one-bedroom real estate seeing the greatest growth at about six percent. About 73 percent of Ashburn residents are homeowners, and the median rent asked in the area is around $1,900 per month for two-bedroom units.

Green space in and around Ashburn includes Ashburn Park, Trailside Park, and Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park. There are several golf courses nearby as well, such as the Golf Club at Landsdowne and Dulles Golf Center. Ashburn Ice House is a large indoor ice rink for skating, hockey, and lessons.

The median household income for Ashburn is $123,000, more than twice the national average. The cost of living is 43 percent higher than the national figure. Loudoun County’s top employers include Verizon, the Department of Homeland Security, United Airlines, and Raytheon Company.

Ashburn students attend Loudoun County Public Schools. There are 14 elementary schools, five middle schools, and five high schools within Ashburn. 19 of these schools receive excellent scores of eight or nine out of 10 from the school ratings website GreatSchools.org. Private schools serving the area include Loudoun School for the Gifted and County Christian School.

For higher education, there are campuses of George Washington University and Strayer University in Ashburn.
